Get outdoors and learn Spanish this Summer in our Jardín!
Preschool and Kinder/1st grade programs
Jardín de Mariposas is opening our nature and STEAM inspired campus this Summer for Spanish immersion camps. Located in Los Altos Hills, our extensive campus offers ample natural spaces for outdoor exploration and learning including our play yard, farm animals, grass fields and garden classroom with vegetable beds and orchard. We offer morning and full day programs Monday-Friday for preschool children and a full day program for children entering Kindergarten and 1st grade. Tuition includes a T-shirt and daily snack. Full payment is required at time of registration and is non-refundable.
June 13-July 1st: Ciencia al máximo will explore extreme science on a smaller scale. Children will create an earthquake simulator, wind tunnel, volcanic eruption and rocket launcher to explore these grand phenomena of nature. They will also explore how science works in the kitchen on a smaller scale to create our food.
July 5-July 22: Maravillas del mar will explore the creatures of the marvelous ocean and how water flows and impacts nature. Children will create an aquarium around the school with life size cardboard marine life to gain a better understanding of the size of the animals they often talk about. In our outdoor lab they can explore movement of water and see how gravity and pressure play a role. In this session we also set up the yard for water play so the children can get wet on hot days.
July 25-Aug. 5: Arte en el Jardín will explore the wonders of our hillside campus, garden and orchard to inspire us in creating art with various mediums. Children will be able to collect materials from nature to create on various mediums. Ample time will be spent outdoors in our garden classroom for inspiration and creation.
